Central America

Migratory route to the US

Between 2023 and 2024, the migration crisis in Central America has worsened significantly. The population in transit has grown exponentially and the conditions of the crossing are increasingly worse. Violence, extortion, poverty, hunger. They all seek the same thing, to reach the United States and access a way of life far from the misery they leave behind. Coming from many Latin American countries and also from Africa or even China, the truth is that 50% of migrants come from Venezuela. A migration crisis that is not new and that for now does not stop growing year after year. This report was carried out in the hot spots on the borders between Nicaragua, Honduras and Guatemala, accompanying teams from the NGO Acción Contra el Hambre.
